Thomas Winters

Mr. Winters serves as an agent and negotiator for many of our author clients. As a founding member and shareholder of Winters & King, Inc., Thomas J. Winters has been with the firm since its beginning in 1983.

Mr. Winters is a noted attorney and literary agent. Authors under his literary representation have accumulated sales of more than 100 million books, and 39 titles by authors he represents have been recognized as New York Times Bestsellers.

Mr. Winters has provided representation to over 5,500 non-profit organizations scattered throughout the United States and more than 40 foreign countries. In conjunction with the firm, he has represented more than 30 of the Largest and Fastest Growing Churches in America, as reported by Outreach Magazine; and provided representation to 20 of the top 50 churches listed in Newsmax’s Top 50 Megachurches in America.

His clientele includes many of today’s best-known national and international ministry and church organizations, as well as thousands of smaller organizations.

Mr. Winters is licensed to practice law before the State, Federal and U.S. Tax Courts, and has served as an Adjunct Professor teaching Non-Profit Law at the Oral Roberts University Seminary.

He is a frequent lecturer of non-profit legal issues, to leaders of non-profit organizations and the professionals who serve these organizations.

Mr. Winters served on the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) Panel of Legal Experts for the Commission on Accountability and Policy for Religious Organizations. Over a 2 1⁄2 year time span, the Commission gathered input from the religious and broader non-profit sector to address the accountability and policy issues emanating from Senator Charles Grassley’s staff.

Mr. Winters has served as a board member for various non-profit organizations, and been a recipient of the International Third World Leadership Award.
